My Platform
Principles, Not Party Scripts
Five commitments about how government should work for the people it serves. Where something is a fact, a law, a proposal, or an opinion, I try to label it that way.
A. Government Accountability
Represent constituents rather than automatically following party leadership. Explain significant votes in plain English, publish the reasons for supporting or opposing a bill, identify who it affects, and lay out the benefits and drawbacks honestly.
B. Privacy, Surveillance & Civil Liberties
The Fourth Amendment, digital privacy, the real legal limits on surveillance authorities like FISA Section 702, independent oversight, and plain-English explanations of any proposed expansion of government power.
C. The Next Generation
Public notice, plain-language summaries, hearings and comment, independent review of expanded powers, and safeguards against hard-to-reverse restrictions on rights, so the next generation doesn't inherit decisions made without transparency or participation.
D. Working Americans
Most people are busy working, raising families, and paying bills. You shouldn't need to be a lawyer or a lobbyist to understand what your government is doing.
- Government information should be understandable to ordinary people.
- Focus on transparency and on the real-life effects legislation could have on households, jobs, and communities.
- Ask, for every significant bill: who does this affect, and how?
Concern / opinion This site does not propose specific economic or tax policy. Any future positions will be published with plain-English reasoning and trade-offs.
E. Common Ground & Personal Accountability
Disagreement doesn't have to be hatred. Everyone has a past, people grow, and accountability applies to citizens and officials alike.
